I have a varied background with skills in business, IT and education.
I have a degree in Business Studies and have always been interested in business issues, particularly the people side of business. I am currently keeping up-to-date in topics within management, leadership, organisational behaviour, employee engagement and wellbeing.
I have a background in education. In my early career I taught EFL. I spent around 5 years in Japan teaching all ages and levels in a variety of contexts.
After around 10 years in university administration, I have recently returned to teaching, leading a module in ‘Managing Change’ to 3rd year undergraduates (BA Counselling, Coaching and Mentoring). I also currently offer one-to-one training and tutoring online.
My business experience and knowledge, combined with my people development skills and supportive nature, have led to me developing as a coach and mentor, initially studying for the ILM Level 5 Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring.
I have predominantly worked in Higher Education, but have also worked on temporary contracts in a whole range of different organisations, small and large, public and private, in both manufacturing and service sectors. I currently have coachees in local government, the police force, a small overseas start-up, and a university (academic teaching/research).
